Bloggity Blog

It’s week 4!  The topic I chose this week is Princess in Peril or Damsel in Distress.  I hope it inspires some fun drawings!  Next week I’ve asked a fellow sketchoholic to do a sketch and choose the topic and it sounds like they’re doing it!  I’ll post more about it next week but I’m so excited about including other artists in this contest series (even if we’re not so famous :) .

I’m a little behind with these posts.  The contests are still a lot of fun for me.  The other artists on Sketchoholics are really cranking out some fun drawings!  Here is the prize for last week.  The topic was ‘two heads’.

I mentioned a few days ago that I was doing some drawing challenges on Sketchoholic.com.  I’m having fun so far!  This is week two and The topic to draw from is Kung-Fu Animal!  If you have any suggestions for topics you can leave them in the comment section below.

Here’s the prize, thanks!

Whoa!  Looks like this blog has been on vacation… what’s going on here?  Lots!

I’m here today to mention that I’m hosting a few contests over on Sketchoholic.com.  I’ve missed the weekly competitions over there.  It’s really nice to be part of a community of artists who just want to draw together!  I decided it was about time I gave back a little and so that’s what I’m doing!  I’ve been inking some 4×6 drawings as prizes and so far I have enough for 4 contests.

‘Monster Portrait’ was the first contest and it’s nearly wrapped up.  It’s been fun to see all of the variations on the theme!  Here is the prize for this contest…

If you are interested in checking out the next contest it should start Monday of next week!  Visit Sketchoholic.com and look for the icon at the top of this post.  I’m calling the series ‘Sketchoholics Anonymous’ so come on out and join me for some drawing!

Carrie, Stella, and I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

This is fun news.  I’ve found out that Cop’s Night Before Christmas has been featured in a few articles and blog entries online!  Take a look!

Click the title above to see an article on mLive that features local artists in the Kalamazoo area.  Cool!

Children’s Literacy.com did a short blurb about the book.

Holiday Gift Giving Review: Cop’s Night Before Christmas

Just wanted to share some of the fun news about Cop’s Night Before Christmas!  Thanks :) .

Another fun contest entry.  This time we had to create a “snapshot” from Marco Polo’s Journey to Asia.  ;)

Comment 8. Melinda!  Congratulations, Melinda and thank-you for sharing your favorite holiday food which is your Grandmommies Pumpkin Pie!  I’d have to say that pumpkin pie is one of my personal favorites too so it’s good to know that this drawing will be going to a fellow pie-lover!  If you don’t get an email from me please contact me via this website with your mailing address so I can send you the watercolor!

Thanks to everyone who entered my little contest.  I’ve really enjoyed promoting Cop’s Christmas and meeting people at the book signings.  Thank-you to everyone for all of the support :) .

Hey everyone! If you are not aware, I have worked on a little painting that I’m ‘raffling’ off on my blog. To be entered you just need to click here to get to the original blog post and leave a comment containing your favorite holiday food. I’ll be doing a random drawing and will post the results shortly after December 10th! Here is the completed painting. Good luck and thanks for your support!

Hello!  Well, this one snuck up on me.  I have one more book signing on the ‘Cop’s Night Before Christmas’ tour!  I really enjoyed the last one because family and friends showed up in force!  It was great.  Here are the details for the next one.  Hope to see you there!’
